At MGN Builders Merchants, we offer a range of moisture-resistant plasterboards ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and any area prone to high humidity.

These plasterboards are specially formulated to withstand exposure to moisture, preventing warping, sagging, and mould growth that can occur with standard plasterboard.

Our Moisture Resistant Plasterboard Selection:

• 15mm Moisture Resistant Plasterboard Tapered Edge (2400mm x 1200mm): This thicker board provides superior impact resistance and sound insulation, making it ideal for walls and partitions in high-traffic areas.
• 12.5mm Moisture Resistant Plasterboard (2400mm x 1200mm): Our standard thickness moisture-resistant board is perfect for walls, ceilings, and soffits in moisture-prone areas.

Is moisture-resistant plasterboard waterproof?

No, moisture-resistant plasterboard is not waterproof. However, it is significantly more resistant to moisture absorption compared to standard plasterboard. This makes it suitable for humid environments but not for areas with direct water contact.

Can I use moisture-resistant plasterboard for shower enclosures?

While moisture-resistant plasterboard offers better performance than standard plasterboard, it's not recommended for direct shower enclosures. In such cases, a waterproof material like wet wall panels or tanking systems should be used.
